OUR MISSION: WORLD RACING LEAGUE DELIVERS A PRO-RACING EXPERIENCE ON AN AMATEUR RACING BUDGET.

We believe that concise rules, sportsmanship, respect and comradery make for a great racing series. Each WRL event is designed to offer teams of drivers hours of cost-effective track time, going wheel-to-wheel with those who share their passion for clean, drama-free competition, real racing strategy and fun. WRL is defined by five simple ideas:

  1. Provide true, class-based endurance racing with the classes defined by power to weight ratio
  2. Host competitive races with experienced drivers and properly prepared race cars
  3. Enforce a no-contact philosophy with a driver tracking/rating system to help promote clean racing
  4. Remain open to most cars built for clubs and series across North America
  5. Keep racing fun and affordable for the vast majority of enthusiasts who are passionate about the sport

Simply put, WRL fills the void between pro-level series like WEC, and entry-level “budget” racing. We are a racing organization that welcomes everyone who values the tradition of road racing as a gentleman’s sport – a sport that has generated stories of legendary sportsmanship, feats of skill and innovation, heroism, fierce rivalries, infamous cars and larger-than-life personalities.

This is a prestigious sport, the pinnacle of motorsports competition populated at every level by tremendous competitors in terms of drive, skill and courage. We hold our fellow road racers in the same regard as adventurers, fighter pilots and astronauts – people pushing the envelope, living on the edge, striving to be the best. At the same time WRL is committed to making road racing fun and accessible at the amateur level by keeping costs in check, mitigating risk and reducing the time investment needed to compete. The rulebook is 16 pages. We welcome family and friends to be a part of the fun. We even facilitate post-race marriage proposals. What’s not to like?

What does a WRL car look like? Looking across the paddock at a WRL event, you will see a variety of cars that can, and do compete in every racing series in the US. Spec Boxsters, BMWs, Spec Miatas, Panoz, Corvettes, and Mustangs. You’ll also see B-Spec, older VW Golfs, Porsche 944s, Spec RX7’s, various Hondas, and vintage cars. Our classing system helps level the playing field no matter what you drive or how much (or little) you spend.

Good racers, good people. Everyone on track has a minimum of 8 hours of wheel-to-wheel track time. Most have been racing for years and there are up and coming hot shoes, too. Our licensing requirements are simple but also ensure that you are not diving into a turn with a novice. Club and pro racing licenses, HPDE solo status and budget racing experience accepted. We even have our own licensing program.

But what happens off the track is just as important in making a great race weekend. Hanging out on pit road with friends and family, teams sharing stories, food, tools and even parts needed to keep a car on track. The excitement and strategy of the race itself is addicting. But the people are what makes this series great.

Don’t take our word for it. Ross Bentley, former pro racer, winner of the "24 Hours of Daytona" and author of “Speed Secrets” had this to say-

“What a great experience I had racing in World Racing League! The event was well-run - better than many professional series I’ve competed in. The competition was tough. The drivers were better than I expected. But most important, it was fun - really fun! In fact, it was exactly how racing should be: friendly but competitive, well-organized but not overly strict, and… did I mention it was fun? I can’t wait to drive in another WRL race.”

Looking for a race series that fits you like a glove? Look no further.
WRL is racing at great tracks like Circuit of the Americas, Mid-Ohio, Road America and many more.
Our "24@5280" is becoming one of the signature amateur racing events in the US.
